This list contains software which can be downloaded freely by University of Alberta Faculty, Staff and/or Students. You will need to use your Campus Computing ID and password to get access to the download site.

Tangent VPN	Tangent provides a GUI front-end for VPN connection and authentication at the University of Alberta. *Please Note* Tangent VPN is not compatible with any version of the Mac OS newer than OS X 10.5.
Triton OpenAFS Client	Triton provides a GUI frontend for authenticating and managing OpenAFS connections to the University of Alberta and the Paul Scherrer Institut.
Chem Draw	ChemDraw includes Struct=Name, ChemDraw/Excel and ChemNMR. Create stereochemically correct structures from chemical names, and get accurate IUPAC names for structures. Estimate NMR spectra from a ChemDraw structure with direct atom to spectral correlation. The ChemDraw ActiveX/Plugin adds chemical intelligence to your browser for querying databases and displaying information.

This list contains software that may be purchased at AICT Product Sales in 302 GSB. Upon receipt of payment you will be provided an ID and password to access the download site.

X-Win32	XWin32 9 is a complete reimplementation of the product, including an all new user interface, a new SSH implementation, and an all new technology layer for drawing and displaying graphics on the screen.
Ghost	Symantec Ghost Solution Suite 2.5 is the industry's most widely-used deployment, system management, and computer imaging software solution. Use Ghost's proven hardware-independent imaging capabilities to significantly accelerate day-to-day imaging and deployment needs. This Windows migration software can also migrate all your client systems, including Windows 7, to the latest operating system, all from a single management console.

WinSCP	Personal and/or U of A computer	WinSCP is an open source SFTP client and FTP client for Windows. Its main function is the secure file transfer between a local and a remote computer. Beyond this, WinSCP offers basic file manager functionality. It uses Secure Shell (SSH) and supports, in addition to Secure FTP, also legacy SCP protocol.
PuTTY	Personal and/or U of A computer	PuTTY is a free SSH, Telnet and Rlogin client for 32-bit Windows systems. SSH, Telnet and Rlogin are three ways of doing the same thing: logging in to a multi-user computer from another computer, over a network.
Thunderbird	Personal and/or U of A computer	Simple to use, powerful, and customizable, Thunderbird is a full-featured e-mail application. Thunderbird supports IMAP and POP mail protocols, as well as HTML mail formatting. Easily import your existing e-mail accounts and messages. Built-in RSS capabilities, powerful quick search, spell check as you type, global inbox, deleting attachments and advanced message filtering round out Thunderbird's modern feature set.
Safari	Personal and/or U of A computer	It's a browser. It's a platform. It's an open invitation to innovate. Safari sets the standard for the way browsing should be.
Chrome	Personal and/or U of A computer	Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier.
Firefox	Personal and/or U of A computer	The Firefox Web Browser is the faster, more secure, and fully customizable way to surf the web with features such as private browsing, password manager, awesome bar, anti-phishing & Anti-malware, session restore, one-click bookmarking, tabs, themes and easy customization.

Office 2007 Compatibility Pack	Personal and/or U of A computer	By installing the Compatibility Pack in addition to Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003, you will be able to open, edit, and save files using the file formats in newer versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint . The Compatibility Pack can also be used in conjunction with the Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2003, Excel Viewer 2003, and PowerPoint Viewer 2003 to view files saved in these new formats.
7-Zip	Personal and/or U of A computer	7-Zip is a file archiver with a high compression ratio.
Malwarebytes	Personal computer only	Malwarebytes is a site dedicated to fighting malware. Malwarebytes has developed a variety of tools that can identify and remove malicious software from your computer. When your computer becomes infected, Malwarebytes can provide the needed assistance to remove the infection and restore the machine back to optimum performance.
